More Projects Completed - Yet There's Always More to Start

Good Saturday Afternoon Crocheters!

Hope Everyone is having a Great Day So Far! I know I am!

Spent the better part of the last week finishing up some projects - rather portions of projects - and now we're getting ready to start another Christmas Square, and a Hat & Scarf package.

So what did we get done?  Well I added a hat & a lovey to the shell baby blanket I posted about last week, remember?

I completely free-handed the Lovey and I like it - the face is throwing me off...

But hopefully the lovely woman who ordered it will love it! It was a gift added to the order!

THEN yesterday I worked more on the Halloween Bobble Graph blanket I started - adding a Pumpkin to the Candy Corn

This one was trying to say the least, had to pull out that 3rd row several times, and in the end I just left it the way it was...needs some blocking, but I'm happy with it.

And last but certainly NOT least, the Elf Square from the Repeat Crafter Me Facebook Group Crochet-A-Long!

Here's the graph as a refresher

AND my finished product! I am thrilled with him!

Can I just say I am addicted to the C2C Graphs? The Bobble ones are trying on the hands, but I love that too!

So What's Everyone Up To this Weekend? What do you have on the Hook?

Finishing Touches are What Make it Special

Good Thursday Morning Crocheters!

Hope Everyone is Doing Well This Morning! It's Rainy & Cool here in the Port City, so we're hanging out indoors for the most part today.  No worries there's always a hook & some yarn to keep up occupied ;-)

Anyhew, the other day I posted a shell baby blanket I'd made for a former co-worker, well she requested the shell border on the sides, so of course I obliged, check out the finished product!

You can also see the color a LOT better in these pictures.  I also have a hat to add to this set to complete it, BUT that means a trip to Hobby Lobby, oh darn LOL!!!

I also had another order for a teddy bear, this one was very specific about what they wanted, but I was able to add some creative liberties to it! I started using this Lions Brand pattern, but finished by winging most of it, and I am proud of the end result and the customer is happy!

Cute Huh?!?! Now I've finished all my orders I can re-direct my attention back to the two Crochet-A-Long's I'm working on, I finished square #2 in the Christmas one last night - still need to weave in some ends and add a border (again need to hit Hobby Lobby) before I'm going to share a pic of my finished product, but here's the Graph

So that's where I am at right now!

Weekends Always Mean Productivity Increases!

Good Monday Morning Crocheters!

I hope everyone's had a GREAT Weekend!

I sure did! Was a very very busy one!

With my current full-time job coming to an end I am working hard on YTA Creations to get it moving and pick-up business so I have some kind of something going once my job ends on 10/9.  So to do that I've been working hard to boost my skills and try new things...as you guys know I've been posting a LOT lately using the Graphs.  I am loving those, creating pictures within Crochet squares has been SO much fun! Look here to see what I've done just this weekend!

First, there's another Halloween Crochet-A-Long going on the Repeat Crafter Me Facebook group, and this is square #1 of that - everyone who knows me knows I LOVE Candy Corn, so this was so much fun to do!

So on that I had made this lovely square for my Mom last week

And because she and I are just one the same wavelength I added another side to it

Added some additional bordering and turned it into a Pillow! My son just LOVES it, said it looks like it came out of a Factory! WHAT?!?!? Boy loves my work!

So because of that, I put this together for him over the weekend

He's got it hanging on his wall over his bed, said it goes perfectly with his Minecraft user name, which I am blanking on at the moment!

The last thing I finished over the weekend was this adorable baby blanket for a former co-worker who is going to be a Grandma in the Winter! I still need to add a shell border to the sides and make a hat, but I am in LOVE with it too!

Isn't it the Sweetest?!?! The person who ordered it LOVES it and that is what is most important!

The next things to get done are the blanket (like I've said) and a Animuguri Teddy Bear.  I have a couple patterns I've been looking at, so once I grab the yarn for it I'll get to work.

Scraps - What to Do with Them...Make a Scrapghan Of Course!

Good Tuesday Morning Crocheters!

Happy Day!

The sun is shining here in Southern North Carolina and it looks to be a gorgeous day!!

Every once in a while the question of what to do with your scraps comes up in conversations - my preference is to turn them into what I call Scrapghans.  They are just afghans I've made using nothing but scraps, there's no ryhme or reason to the pattern of colors, just what I grab and when.  I have once I keep at home and recently I gave one away to a photographer here in town and yesterday she sent me the cutest picture of it being used.

First here's the scrapghan I am referring to

And here's the picture she sent me yesterday

OH MY GAWD I could just squeal! I had to look at it more than once to say yes that's the same afghan as above! But I did an OMG isn't that little angel just the Sweetest?!?!

So how do you use your scraps?

I am always taking requests for Scrapghans! They come from my imagination and I am always willing to share them with them world!

Finding Inspiration

Happy Monday Crocheters!

Hope Everyone had a Fantastic Weekend!

We sure did - kept things quiet at home and for that I am eternally Thankful!

On this gorgeous Monday I sit at work in a windowless box and dream of projects I'd like to work on - I have two pending I need to go shopping for and then two more Daisy Afghans that are waiting for the client to return from vacation and then have surgery before I can get started on - so in the meantime I wait anxiously for my next orders from the Etsy Shop or even from someone on Facebook!

Until that time I dream and I dream big of new projects - new stitches to try - new things I haven't attempted before and I am thrilled to say the wish list is long...

Like I'd love to learn how to Cable Stitch in Crochet, sort of like this baby blanket I came across this morning

Isn't this the Sweetest?!?!?  I'd love to learn how to do this!

My next want to learn is how to make a sweater - I found this gem this morning as well

This is called the Genevieve Sweater, isn't it Gorgeous!?!?! I'd love to put this together!

I've spent a good bit of time this morning cruising through my favorite Crochet Website, All Free Crochet, picking out ideas, patterns, etc. The above were found on there along with several others I won't list here! But until I have the next daisy afghan order situated I'll have to just continue to cruise and work on my own projects once I finish my Etsy order!

Until then, Happy Monday Crocheters!

Older Projects Bring Back Memories

Good Saturday Morning Crochet Friends!

Have you ever dug through photos of your old projects and remembered each and every single one of them? I did that this morning and did it bring back memories of each and every single one of them!

Like this baby blanket I made for the receptionist at my kids after-school program, I loved putting it together for her and trying to create a pattern I thought she'd love!

And this Black & White chevron I made for our wonderful neighbor! He takes such good care to ensure our yard is mowed, he's always bringing us food, etc. it was the least I could do for it! He's also super involved in our local POW-MIA group and those are the colors of that group! Win-Win!

Or even this dual-colored blue square blanket I made for my son, at his request, he wanted a blanket of his own, so we decided on these two shades of blue and I came up with this beautiful square pattern! He still has this on his bed today - near 2-years later!

Then there was this gem I assembled for my daughter, our biggest Washington fan in the house, her after school program has them carry cards that they scan in and out for attendance - I put this together one night for her so she could carry hers in style!

Then there was this project - this one seriously got away from me in terms of size...WOW I never expected it to get as big as it did when I was making it - to give you and idea our bed there is a king-sized bed and that afghan takes up the entire thing! I didn't have a purpose for it, so I gave it away to a friend from high school for her teenagers room.  Last I heard she loved it!

Last but certainly not least a tri-colored chevron afghan I made with all intentions to sell - though it didn't - and now it has a home with my Parents! I use it whenever we go visit them! I love this Chevron with these colors!

It's amazing the rinse and repeat of patterns I use and the variety in which things can be made!

Happy Saturday Friends!

We're not Just Afghans

Ok there I said it...I do so much more than just afghans, though it seems to be my specialty - I have updated my shop to include these wonderful new items I put together in 2014

A Minnie Mouse Themed Baby Blanket with Matching Hate

1920s Flapper Girl Style Hat with Matching Scarf

Redskins Themed Baby Blanket with Matching Hat

Roses

Roses Up Close

Along with the Afghans I adore making I also enjoy assembling items that are more than just afghans.  I started my Crochet hobby by making Hats & Scarves for my kiddos - they were very basic, but served their purpose and everyone at their school just ADORED their matching sets LOL!!

So when my Hubby asked me to make some Roses for his Grooming clients I jumped all over that and immediately went about learning how to make them - voila Roses! I have made several dozen roses at this point and just love doing it!

So hop on over to my shop and see the new additions I've added today!
