A Busy Time of Year For Sure

Hello Crocheters!

Not much to share, but I know it's been ages since I've stopped by to say Hello!

Since my last post I've gotten a new job that has me working 50 hours a week, whew, which leaves very little time after hours to do some crocheting!

I will say though that hasn't deterred orders - I've finished a bag of goodies to send to Sea Trail Grandma's (hats, blankets & two stuffies) and have taken and completed two House Elf Orders from my Etsy Shop!  And nevermind the never ending list of items I volunteered to make

 - Hats for the Holiday Parade for my Girl Scout Troop - there were 20 of those
 - Christmas gifts including two afghans, one is 80% done the other is only 20% started...ugh

So its been very busy but I've enjoyed every second of it, just trying to stay awake long enough at night to get some hook work done :D

If I don't get back here before Christmas, I hope everyone enjoys their holiday!

More Time at Home = Adding Some Volunteer Work to my List

Good Evening Crocheters!

It's been a while since I posted last and in the time I've been away I've been super busy!

I joined up with a group called Sea Trail Grandma's to crochet blankets, hats & toys for our local hospital's NICU, I've made two blanket sets + 1 teddy bear I am very proud of

They are very simple, but their intended recipients are extra special! I love the bear mostly because I did him without a pattern, just winged it and put him together!

Then I've also managed to make some hats for my Girl Scout Troop to wear in the Annual City Holiday Parade

Pattern Can be found on Ravelry.com - Click Image for Link
During all of this too I've managed to start 2 Christmas presents and finish one set for my family - I have a to-do list a mile long it seems LOL!!!

No sales at the Smoothie Shop yet, but there's been a lot of interest, which makes me happy!

Ok so WOW been Super Busy!

Happy Tuesday Crocheters!

It's rainy and icky here in the Port City, which means staying home and hooking :D Oh yeah!

Anyhew, I've been super duper busy as of late, had someone send me a pic of a rope-like scarf she wanted made - couldn't find a pattern, so I made one up, and she was pleased and turned around and ordered 4 of them!

So here they are!

It truly is a simple pattern, using a 10mm hook and some bulky yarn chain 316, do a HDC in 2nd Chain from hook and across.  Slip stitch the ends together and loop to form a scarf.

The wrap is simple too, using a 9mm Hook

Chain 11
Row 1: 1 DC in 3rd Chain from Hook and Across, ch 3 & turn
Row 2: 1 DC in 2nd DC of Row 1, 1 DC in Skipped DC to form an X, repeat across for 5 total X's, ch 3 & turn
Row 3: Repeat Row 1

Sew a button onto the middle X

Wrap around scarf, and close using a slip stitch.

Super Simple!

Then last night while I was working on the above - my daughter went and got her Charmander toy I'd made her and she proceeded to sit down and read with him in her lap, LOVED seeing it so I snapped a pic

Last but certainly not least, yesterday my husband and I went over to a local Herbalife Club to have some breakfast smoothies, we've known the owners for years, and I picked up the Andy Hat & Scarf I'd made to give to the owner.  She loved it soo much she's offered me a display in her store to sell items, WHAT?!?! I am soo excited!  She told me she's already had inquiries from her customers about how they can get their own sets, so I immediately went to work on more sets in different colors.

Here she is wearing her gift, to say she's looking forward to colder weather is an understatement!

**Pic Shared with her Permission**
So add to the above a growing list of Christmas presents to make for my family I am going to be SUPER busy!  Which is a Good thing!

So that's all for now!

Have Fun Hooking my Friends!

Been Busy Again!

Good Sunday Afternoon Crocheters!

I've been busy again this week...I mean seriously I'm out of work and there's one computer in the house that useable for searching for work...so what else do I have to do...CROCHET duh!

So once I finished the Christmas afghan I moved onto finishing the Halloween one I started weeks ago, got it finished and here it is!

So once that was finished, I also found a cute pattern for a Dobby the House Elf!

I've also added him to my Etsy shop for $15, so get your order in NOW in time for Christmas!

So once Dobby & The Halloween Afghan were finished my son Asked me to make him a Terriermon Toy (A Digimon Character) so we did some digging online and found a pattern, here is the finished product

So then when he was done, it was mid-afternoon on Halloween and I decided I needed a hat to wear while the kiddos were trick-or-treating, enter this beauty

And last but certainly not least, my daughters kindergarten teacher sent me a message on Facebook wondering if I could make this for her

This is a finger crochet pattern that's sold out, so I decided to see what I could come up with that might be remotely close to this, and here's what I came up with

It may not be 100% close, but I sent the woman these pics, so we'll see what she says.

So what have ya'll be working on?

Good Evening Crocheters!

I've been busy the last several days, yesterday I made a cute little girl bunny, all the while writing up her pattern that I'll share here later in the week.  Then I also finished the lattice wrap I've been working on and made a hat for my daughter!

Whew, like I said busy!

Check out the end products here

Both were my own creations - no patterns, just freeform crochet! Got some help with Hops' ears (brown one) but otherwise both mine!

Christmas is Coming...And in Our House That's Meant a Christmas Crochet-A-Long!

Good Evening Crocheters!

Tonight I am happy to announce I've finished the banners for the Christmas Squares afghan!

So thrilled with the way they've turned out, I still need to stitch the whole thing together, but I am soo excited with the way it turned out!

Please excuse the crud photos, lighting in our room is horrid and the afghan only fits on our king bed

FINALLY Got me a Head Form so I could show off...

Good Friday Evening Crocheters!

Hope Everyone's had an awesome week!

It's been good here...being unemployed sucks, but I am trying to make the best of it.

That being said I just had to make a Hobby Lobby run the other night with my son, he's requested a new Christmas Stocking and I figured, meh why not! I'd just finished one for my nephew, why not make him one too...sooo...while I was there I picked up a Styrofoam head form so I could show off some hats/scarves I've made recently!

Check it out

This set is probably my Favorite! The Andy Wrap Scarf & Hat!  I am in love with the Oatmeal color and texture of the Vanna White yarn!

Patterns:

I made the hat without a pattern, but later found one on Pinterest, click here to get the pattern from Rescued Paws Designs

The Scarf Pattern is also located on her website, click here for the Pattern

This set isn't quite finished yet - I need to add to the scarf and add some buttons to both the hat & the scarf, then it'll be done.

Patterns:

You can find the Hat Pattern here from Melanie Ham (BTW she's one of my Favorite Designers, just LOVE her stuff!)

And the Scarf can be found on Crafty Red's Site here.

Have Fun Kids!

Productivity...Productivity...Unemployment = Productivity

Hello Crocheters!

Are you catching a theme here?  Being home, unemployed means when I am not taking my turn looking for work, Hubby is also unemployed, I am hooking.  Which means a TON is getting done!

Lately I've finished the top banner for my Christmas blanket, finished two more squares for the Halloween blanket, made some more baskets and some doggie hats...check it out! No pic of the banner, waiting to get the bottom one done before I share them...I know I'm teasing ;-)

This pattern is my own, I used a Bulky yarn and some of the basics of making an Amigurumi to Put it together last night

Pattern Altered from Niftynnifer's Dog Hat Pattern, Link to Pattern in Image
Still working on the Halloween squares, have three more to do before its completely finished and ready for assembly, I honestly can't wait to see the finished product.

I've also been asked for the pattern for my Christmas basket, I am going to work that up as soon as I can, along with the Rabbit I shared earlier this week!

That being said, for all the non crocheters who are following-along, if you want your own Crochet Creation, please check-out my Etsy Shop!  I've added the baskets and will be adding the doggy hats as options!

And, I am still running my special for Buy One Stuffy, Get one 1/2 Off!

Being Unemployed Has its Perks...I've Gotten Crochet Happy!

Good Sunday Evening Crocheters!

Hope Everyone has had a great week! It's been a very busy one here for sure - this past week I've been home, unemployed, taking a week off post layoff to rest my head, recoup and just recover from working or 5 years straight with no breaks.

So in that regard I've spent the week doing nothing but Crocheting! Got a border on my Christmas Squares, finished two more Halloween Squares (which I need to photograph) and made two hat/scarf sets that need buttons before I'll photograph them, and a couple of baskets + a Rabbit!

For now I can share some pics of the Rabbit and the Baskets...I didn't have a pattern for him, and just opted to wing it to see if I could create something without one, here's what I came up with:

The entire thing less his ears is winged, I got a little help from another blogger (can't find the blog again - sorry) but the carrot and his tail are 100% mine!  Super Happy with him!

Then the other night it was getting late and I was bored while watching TV and threw this together

It sits all of 6" tall and is roughly 8" at its base, but I am thrilled with it!

So then I decided to try and use a varigated yarn to see what sort of pattern I'd get and BAM! This happened last night!

The base is about 2" wide with the top at about 6" wide with a lid! I am pleased with the end result for sure!!!

Thoughts?!?!

I am going to add the baskets and bunny to my Etsy Shop, so come on over and check them out!

Remember, Buy one Stuffed Animal, Get One 50% Off! That'll include the Rabbit!
